    @kaia It's my fault. I sold all of my funds around Christmas and just put everything on 3.9% savings account (but I guess soon the interest rates gets slashed so need to invest those again).

    Can't wait for the market to crash so I can buy stocks for cheap! I will totally calculate the bottom correctly and make a billion bucks! Obviously! What could go wrong? Absolutely nothing :ablobcat3dverified:

    HTML emails are problematic due to the fact they are freaking websites read by web browsers. So they can be used for evil or just graphical design is my passion/looks nice on my screen emails. Not to mention all the fluff like pixel trackers, hiding link urls, sending 6mb images scaled down to tiny icons on the signature etc.

    Markdown or similar is way better. Or just plain text with some ASCII "formatting" and anchors for images. (As in: described in the attachment 3, or [3] etc whatever citation/anchor you prefer). There's plenty that can be done with plain text.

    @jonossaseuraava @pony @EUCommission @piggo @alex @eal The recycling regulation was about going back to washable bottles instead of grounding up the bottles and shipping them "somewhere". So basically what we had in Finland before EU mandated us to use the shitty "weak" plastic bottles instead.

    I wish we'd ban plastic bottles and go for glass bottles. The youth of today don't know the thrill of stepping on broken glass! (I mean, we do have laboratory glass which is almost indestructible. My water kettle is made of it too so it isn't even expensive to make...)

    @icedquinn Hmmm... that sounds like a big downgrade to me. The Oral-B wireless stand is really great, since it is waterproof and safe so can just put the toothbrush down on it immediately after brushing teeth and rinsing it. And since it is a stand can just leave the toothbrush on it so the battery is always full.

    With USB-C don't you need to take it to a charger which can't reside in a wet area?

    @icedquinn I started this game. Did the boring ass tutorial and jumped to a realistic custom game.... aaaaand for some reason I couldn't do shit (I couldn't even build a road starting from the border station).

    I should give that a new go some time with less realistic settings (or figure what button I forgot to press/toggle to get migrant workers build the road so I can build buildings alongside it to get my own workers).

    Just skip the tutorial btw. It is very step-by-step without explaining much at all. If you're ever played video-games before it is just boring "place item here" tutorial.

    @lain @kaia Yeah, that makes sense. At my old gym the humidity occasionally hit 99% (basically the meter ran out of scale) and the walls started to sweat lol It just felt a bit hot to me rather than awful. But makes sense that's not good for the building.

    So basically: dehumidify to preserve the building and humidify to preserve yourself lol

    @lain @kaia Very dumb question, but why is dehumidifying a thing when people buy humidifiers? Like... if it is bad to have humid air why would anyone buy one of those and why would anyone dehumidify the air instead of humidify it?

    @VD15 @kaia @lain @lanodan I had a friend with epilepsy at school. It was pretty scary, since she could suddenly start choking on her tongue and get an episode seemingly out of nowhere (but very rare). No idea how's she doing nowadays or if she's even alive.

    Or maybe she was just faking it to get laid on thigh-pillows :blobcatgiggle2: (The recommendations at the time were not to restrict the seizure, but put the person's head on your thighs to avoid it hitting anything hard. Dunno if those instructions have changed).

    @adiz @volpeon @aks Honestly, I would have been fine with Gemini if they would have just made embedding photos and videos a thing in the spec. Of course I could code a "gemini browser" which would do those things, but it would be a hack and the people writing gemini sites wouldn't want to adjust their pages for it (put video and image links in between the text rather than at the end etc).

    Honestly a markdown based "html alternative" with native image and video embedding (using system codecs maybe) could easily become a "next big thing" in self-hosting circles. Sure, you can do that with html+css too, but it would be "cool" and allow for writing tons of different clients.

    @hj @dick Yeah, N64 middle image was the first modern "FPS" grip. It works pretty great, albeit the low fps in N64 games makes it a bit harder to aim. PS1 got Dualshock after it, but honestly I prefer the N64 grip with the Z-button. Feels more like "shooting a gun".

    I think the original XBOX controller had the best triggers though and comes a close second.
