@WarnerCrocker if it weren’t for investor’s insistence, it would be much more of a back burner work in progress, as it always has been.

Not all of their machine learning efforts over the years have been iffy. It is just when they work as expected, they are taken for granted.

AI is a hot mess everywhere. Apple is just more likely to be bludgeoned for their own efforts (and shortcomings) because it’s fashionable to pile on, and vocal users have high expectations.

I think fireworks with audible explosive reports are stupid (sometimes unavoidable) but there are plenty of great fireworks that are relatively silent eye candy.

Yeah, I’m not terribly concerned about 15 years of shitposts building a profile on me, I was non combative, avoided trolls, and as far as ‘AI training’ from my ‘data’ goes, garbage in/garbage out. I wasn’t diverging my financial or political information in anyway.

I always think of whatever corporate officer is responsible for those irritating unnecessary surveys after every customers repeat visit; their car and house note, their parasitism and how they are doing the company more harm than good.

Surveys can’t count the customers driven away forever, they are already gone. It skews results towards being meaningless.

I have never had to suffer traffic much on my long ago Chicago visits, probably due to the freedom of a tourist to avoid rush hour purely by accident.

I’ve talked to a few that have successfully claimed to have ‘cut the cable’ claiming their many streaming subscriptions are cheaper overall, although they still rely on the cable company as their ISP.

The thing they miss is live sports. I say YouTube provides recaps editing out the ads and time outs. No, they need to get theirs ya-yas out in real time as it happens.

Much higher speed Fiber rollouts by local govt, have also nearly failed, because, no live sports.

@WarnerCrocker CVS used to be purely a brick and mortar competitor now manages many of the grocery chain Walmart and Target facilities taking their business.

I love Walgreens though just as I love old mom and pop drug stores.

I instantly get motion sickness if reading in a vehicle, so I avoid pleasure reading as a passenger. Depending on the drivers habits, I may not need to be reading to become motion sick. I have occasional morning vertigo- I’m not sure it would apply or work in that situation.

@WarnerCrocker No skin in the game, but that wasn’t a terrible game, from someone who is sports agnostic, just peeping in on occasion. I thought clock management on the last play was terrible.
