Finally, the Deckard we all wanted, and it's called BigScreen Beyond 2. Good lenses, good FOV, eye tracking. 108 grams, the weight of 4 AA batteries.
Insane.

Yikes lol. A "noted idiot, liar, and bully in 2017" who was the only actual EV manufacturer in the US, mayhaps the majority of the world, in an age where people not only wanted EVs but pick your billionaire evil CEO - they were all the same back then.
Hindsight is 2020. Sure there may have been a sign or two, I'll grant you that, but "man that guy might actually be a Nazi" wasn't really in the cards up until 2022.
@bleepbloop @Niall @simonbp @jenzi That’s fine and we can agree calling someone a pedo for not using your submarine is egregious, but we didn’t go on a hate train during Dieselgate with VW when they were literally cheating emissions. I weigh to one side here.
And let’s be clear on “the competitions” EVs, Nissan and the rest were offering roughly 150 miles, max, range in 2017. Those aren’t cars, those are toys. There was one choice.
@bleepbloop @Niall @simonbp @jenzi you literally just said “hindsight is 20/20”. And you’re totally right, but going back to the original conversation, that doesn’t mean people should be getting their rides tagged because of something they did several years ago to help the environment or whatever reason they had.
Maybe we should be engaging the enemy, not our allies.
@bleepbloop @Niall @simonbp @jenzi Explain to me how dumping an already-paid-for asset influences a stock in any way.
The money has already moved, the statistic is already in the shareholder analysis.
The used market does not influence a car maker one iota.
You're asking significant pain for no gain.
@BeAware Well, and I mean this very kindly, if scrutiny and mean words fold their plans, they probably should've thought out their proposal a bit better.
Expanding on the idea, it'd be interesting to have an instance-anonymized user moderation database that anyone could review, showing actual moderation taken against users vs. what is effectively a complaint forum.
Saying this, "interesting" could also go the other direction as well... My proposal wouldn't hold up to scrutiny :blobcatcoffee:
@BeAware Don't forget to use Fedicate to report abusive users 😉
(Once I can figure out how to do that...)
@BeAware At least you can see the path of logic they're taking when they talk about banning abortion - there is absolutely no logic, only argument.
@ramsey Blocking a domain and an admin suspending a domain are two different things (though for a user I do believe they *should* be the same).
When blocking a domain, for some reason it's not historical, so even a blocked domain can still interact with your older posts for...some unknown reason. Because of that, they still show these accounts in searches.
Might want to generate an issue on Mastodon's github about this? Interesting discussion.
@SwiftOnSecurity how I wish people could vote like this and it actually be good for the voting system. :blobcatsadreach:
@BeAware It's nice how he lets you know he wants to find you and not do anything because his meds slow him down :comfypopcorn:
#mastoSadmin successfully did not update :sparkles_pink: :sparkles_indigo: :sparkles_blue: :sparkles_cyan: let’s keep it up :blobcatartist: #2patch1week
Edit: Seriously though I 100% agree, I was thinking of posting a similar thing during the patch cycle.
@BeAware Yeah I just realized that's what's going on, but that 'privacy' just makes it Oh! Exploitable! (And honestly if that's how it's going to be, that bot is best banned because I don't want to deal with Mr. Big Server's reports).
@BeAware Just got a report from @mastodon.online@mastodon.online against @pixelworld_ai simply reporting J's entire recent messages. It's:
1) Weird
2) Baseless
3) Hiding behind a bot
4) Suspendable on my server, so I suspended Mastodon.online's shit bot.
The baseless accusations of a hear-me.social member against the aipub.social instance, which called to defederate the community to #mastoadmin, has been recalled.
Accusations included “stealing usernames and passwords through IP address tracking”, which anyone with networking knowledge knows this is foolishness, but we can’t be assured every admin understands this as nonsense & would work to “protect” their users.
NEVER take anything posted here as truth. As an admin, ask questions.
@NicholasTheSaver As far as AIPUB, their only “crime” is generating AI imagery as a hobby. “Stealing usernames and passwords through IP address tracking“? You BETTER have some really SOLID proof to make that kind of baseless accusation.
If that’s your barrier to federation, hearsay, I have really bad news for you.
Because of this, I can’t take your first, serious, accusation seriously.
You’re saying “for the good of the community” and have no proof? Bro, what? #mastoadmin
@BeAware When someone writes "at best" in a different font, color, and italicized, and it's NOT a link, I can't take them seriously.
@MastodonEngineering Just saying, releasing a major security update on one of the biggest holidays per capita in the world is an interesting play.
"It’s all well and good to want no corporations or CEOs or mass media or marketing machines or the entire apparatus of postmodern consumption [… but …] like it or not, Americans don’t do shit until a marketing firm tells us how."
@Catvalente absolutely slapped in 2023 with this piece and it still sings loud and proud today regardless of belief.

@BeAware perfect. I edited the OP with a new feature request
