I'm old enough to remember when the first really big internet tech company promised to do no evil. Oh, the good old days. We were so naive.

Now, not only are they wrecking minds, but they are wrecking the planet with their energy and water supply needs to do their evil.

@darnell I've gotten a few over the last couple of months. I get the Informed Delivery by USPS's daily digest, so I just ignored them. When in doubt, I look at my daily digest or log in to the USPS dashboard.

Glad the scam is getting alerts, although, back a few weeks ago would have been better when people were sending and getting a lot of holiday packages.

Informed Delivery is great. You get images of the mail you are going to receive in the mail that day and heads up on packages. They have an app, also.

How a simple domain misspelling cost an Ohio city $722,000 in a cyberheist

Cyber criminals contacted the city by email and impersonated Pepper Construction Group, which the city has been working with. They requested a $722k bank wire payment. The domain and request looked real except the domain name was misspelled with the u and c being swapped in the word construction to make "constrcution." The city paid the email invoice.

We have an active Republican member of Congress that has been absent for most of the year, and now, The Dallas Morning News reports Sunday that her son said his mother, the current GOP Congresswoman from Texas, is living in a senior-living facility in Fort Worth and experiencing “dementia issues.” #USPol

The statement from the Congresswoman said her colleagues were aware of her "health challenges."

First, where has the press been? Second, why is Congress letting this go on. No one can honestly say that that district is represented right now.

Lort. Had a conversation IRL with someone today who got fired who tried to argue that Ohio's Right to Work law meant they can't be fired and had a right to work unless it is a really good reason and they had a right to a job.

The look on their face when I explained it only meant employees cannot be required to join a union or pay union dues as a condition of employment. The look on their face when they googled what I told them from their phone.

The look when I told them they have no right to a job in the US just like There is no such right to have drinking water, electricity, heat, housing, etc

/2 For over a decade, I've been taking them for my Parkinson's plus disease at a normal tier. Most recently, these drugs have been used for people with long COVID. The SOBs have found a way to milk long COVID. Just changed the drugs tier and charge more money because there are more patients buying it. Some of these drugs are legacy drugs. Price gougers. #UnitedHealthcare is a predator.

Son of a b*tch, #UnitedHealthcare! Days after #Medicare open enrollment closes, UHC sends me an email that they changed their tier 4 drugs for 2025. The most expensive and restrictive tier. This will effect 4 of my medications.

@mookie When I went to sign up for #Hetzner, it was because a lot of people said it was best.

So, I signed up, created an account and order and they immediately suspended my account.

When I inquired, they wouldn't say why my account was rejected. I whined on here and people said I needed to file a support post and beg. I had already inquired with them. Was waiting on a response.

After they responded they couldn't tell me why, I asked them how long they were going to keep my personal data and billing info, which was never used because they immediately suspended me after I submitted my order.

Smugly, they replied two sentences, "Your account is deactivated. Your data will be deleted from our system after the
legal retention period has expired."

May someone at hetzner trip over the power cord that keeps the entire operation humming along, is my opinion. @kiwix
