I saw "not all" mentioned and every time I see "not all" I need to remind folks that "enough" is often a lot less than "all" but is still enough to Be A Big Problem. I don't believe "all men" but strongly believe "enough men". I don't believe ACAB but I do believe ECAB. Not all Americans but certainly enough Americans!
pgrep & pkill got brought up during Solaris 2.6, as part of a "get shit booting faster" effort. Lots of `ps -ef | grep....` pipelines in those < 2.6 init scripts.
He was the first "elder statesman" I had actual interactions & discussions with. I found some corner-case bugs while bringing up the NRL IPv6 & IPsec code while he was at BSDI.
I know I must not be the only one who thinks we should already have cheap 10G (not just 2.5G and even 5G) BaseT infrastructure.
I was just talking with @jeffpc about how in a perfect world someone would make a cheap equivalent of Intel's X55x series of NICs. 1/2.5/5/10GBaseT, existing drivers, and a path since the low-end switch vendors don't seem to have aggressively priced >GigE switching HW.
I might be missing latest state-of-the-market, but last time I checked was last year this month.
