"You'll own nothing and be happy" has been true of cloud computing for too long. We believe there's a better way; organizations should be able to reap the benefits of owning a Cloud Computer. Benefits like lower costs for long-term workloads, operating disconnected from public cloud, or reaching new customers by placing compute anywhere in the world. 1/ When we built the Oxide Cloud Computer, we wanted to rectify (no pun intended!) a major issue with traditional servers: power supply + efficiency.
Legacy infrastructure is wildly inefficient - each traditional server is individually plugged into power supplies converting AC to DC. It’s a lot of cables, mess, and waste.
At Oxide, we’re finally bringing the same kind of efficiencies harnessed by major public cloud providers on prem, accessible to everyone. That ethos is reflected in (cont)
2/ every layer of the stack, in every choice that we made in building this computer differently from anything else you can own on prem.
Unlike traditional servers, our power shelf takes care of all power conversion and passes DC current throughout the rack via a bus bar, that every sled plugs into. Simple and efficient, so you can supercharge your business (sorry, couldn’t help it 😅).
Oxide- efficiency you can hear! It's unreal how much quieter 32 Oxide sleds are vs just two commodity servers. All that noise is your power and cooling budget being burned up by tiny, screaming fans in inefficient legacy servers, let us show you a better way!
