It will never cease to amaze me that "refusing to work during vacation is controversial actually" in the US.

Like... I'm off for three and a half week soon and I will not turn on my work phone for any reason between 16:35 the last day at work and 07:55 first day back at the office.

Gaming still is in a weird state.
It is one of the most spread hobbies among adults. Almost 50% of all adults above 40 play games. Games makes 2 times the money as Hollywood every year and has done for a long time.

Yet the OTHER 50% apparently thinks gaming is for <12 year olds and nerds still.

Speaking of, over and over and over and over again it is proven that private healthcare insurance is more expensive for the individual AND the state.

The ONLY argument that holds water for private health insurance is the pure "I refuse to pay for poor people's health" argument, aka "I am actually too selfish to function in society"

Honestly I don't think it would have worked; the web only took off because people could read their newspapers for free online and maybe find a chatroom you liked. Paywalls for newspapers were still years away.

This was way before web-shops or social media existed after all, everything moving in a 56.6k full duplex speed...

If you use AI generated crap to illustrate something: STOP.

If you care about the environment AT ALL, stop using AI.
If you care about artists of any kind, stop using AI.

@inquiline Centrists and Liberals always consider protesters The Enemy, at least in a more "have they no respect??" kind of way and less "Shoot the commie kids" kind of way. The desperate need for "decorum" is a very Centrist value and permeates everything from trying to get people of color to not talk about racism on social media, to scolding their children for not wanting to talk with their racist or transphobic uncle, to siccing riot police on students for daring to not wanting genocide.
