   Article in the NYTimes today discussing how customers most interested in EVs (left-leaning) are most turned off by Musk, and how this is negatively impacting sales. The "driving around in a giant MAGA hat" effect appears to be very real.

     @lauren @WhyNotZoidberg @reay if Musk having terrible political opinions is a problem for owners of cars, why shouldn't everyone who owns a Ford be embarrassed and why don't people constantly harass Ford owners over Henry Ford wanting to wipe out the Jews?

     @lauren I readily admit, for every Tesla I see on the road I wonder if the driver is a Musk fan and assume it's at least likely.
     If I'd had a Tesla before Musk became Musk, I would 100% have returned it when his true self became evident. I cannot and will not support (or be thought to support) that kind of abhorrence. If that means going through the hassle of selling (back) "his" car, so be it.
     Plenty of other EVs out there to choose among, including sexy ones, with equivalent or better range.
