Except where the clean-up can be externalised and/or deferred to next quarter?

Unix time is effectively defined as 86400× the number of days (plus seconds since midnight), but not every day is 86400s longIn addition, the question is ambiguous as to whether it's asking for the number of UTC seconds or SI seconds

Make the tiniest mistake, though, and the compiler will throw away the whole thingno error, no warning, if you try to use it, it'll just use a different one for you

Hmm, a lot of my experience has been a bit of both in any case; primarily and nominally dev, but also making adjustments to the devops automation, with straight ops as necessary (informal on call, Christmas break roster; ssh with sudo access, click ops)I guess that means technically I've been devops all along, even as the bulk of the work was dev; very rarely did I purely deliver a binary for someone else to run, I think not for over a decade now
I'm not sure if that answers the question, hopefully it helps?

I suspect the problem with "the algorithm" is that you need a whole T&S team to keep it from going off the rails, either organically or in response to deliberate gamingIn conversation from rants.au permalink -

Baby changing station in a gender-neutral space is good, otherwise you're holding the baby with one hand trying to dig around the bottom of the pram for the spare wipes or something with the other, while your partner has to wait outsideEven better if it's a dedicated parents' room, but at least a gender-neutral space

Senior Software Engineer looking for work, remote (or very covid-cautious in-person) from Sydney, Australia. My usual stack is Python, Linux and adjacent technologies, in the cloud or on-prem; typically on the backend, ETL, platform side of the stack; individual contributor or team lead.
Keen to learn new things, solve interesting problems, make the world a better place!
