    Are they doing that? It seems to me that if a post reaches your instance's database, it is possible to search it. Remember, search in the Fediverse pre-dates Mastodon's existence.

    I'm glad that Mastodon is finally getting search, but I fear that the "opt in" is giving people the false impression that their public posts are not searchable without their permission, when non-Masto software has always had search capability.

    @feld No, @arielmt is right. NWS sites are life-saving information. They can use progressive enhancement on top of simple HTML, but there's no reason why they should be unusable without JS.

      The Asilidae are the robber fly family, also called assassin flies. They are powerfully built, bristly flies with a short, stout proboscis enclosing the sharp, sucking hypopharynx.     @lain @animeirl It isn't really a *should be*. Your net worth depends on the opportunities you get, the choices you make, and the things imposed externally. Only one of those is in your control.

    That said, your choices (which job offer to take; when to leave one job and seek another; whether and when to start a business; consumption versus investment; which specific investments at what time; home ownership versus renting; which areas you live in; whether to have relationships of any kind and whom you have them with) can still have a huge effect.

    If you spoke to a financial advisor, they'd likely tell you you're behind where you should be unless you got everything just right since your 18th birthday.
