Look forward to hearing where they are. 👍 I couldn't sit around and wait and to be honest, everyone I've been in contact with at Meta has been awesome. I'm still looking forward to it all.

    @Inginsub @i @neko The admin of universedon is going meet with Meta, clearly under an NDA and it's one of few biggest instances.

    Also if you think meta can't do shit, I would just point to xmpp.

    @Hyolobrika @Inginsub @i @neko People changed to google and facebook clients because they were more convenient and got eventually cutoff because they couldn't return because most users they communicated with stayed with google and facebook prison.

    @Suiseiseki @rq I think buying developer time is a much better solution than buying artifacts generated by compilers and alike.

    There are many successful examples of it but it's rare due to the availability of payment methods as you know about that case already.

    @Burger @PublicLewdness If I'm going to develop a fediverse application, I would go for something like JVM. Mainly due to the flexibility it provides specially in managing stuff.

    Most fediverse software suffers from management and upkeep rather than performance bottlenecks.

    For example: Epicyon is written in python but it's great software, and runs on a rpi without hiccups, whereas many software performance oriented language suffer a lot, mainly due to database bottlenecks but not limited to that.
