     @colinsmatt11 @Inginsub @Hyolobrika @i @neko At the time XMPP lacked usable end-to-end encryption, so after Snowden revelations many people moved to messengers that supported it. This had nothing to do with Facebook or Google.
     There's a similar story about Google Reader and how it killed RSS. Also complete bullshit.

     @Hyolobrika @Inginsub @i @neko People changed to google and facebook clients because they were more convenient and got eventually cutoff because they couldn't return because most users they communicated with stayed with google and facebook prison.

     @Inginsub @i @neko The admin of universedon is going meet with Meta, clearly under an NDA and it's one of few biggest instances.
     
     Also if you think meta can't do shit, I would just point to xmpp.
