If you know anyone who has any influence within the NHS, please help them understand what a gawdawful company Palantir is before the UKs healthcare system gets suckered into a deal with the worst company in data management history (and there's plenty of competition for that rank - Palantir earned it).
@clacke This was my constant soapbox speech when building data models for corporate software projects. Not only do developers and stakeholders believe every address (and name, and employment situation, and vehicle, etc ) looks like theirs, they will actively fight you on any discussion of alternatives. It's thankless work...
It did prove, however, that some people are just all too eager to seize upon findings that reinforce their preexisting beliefs and become "conservatives" who refuse to change in the face of contrary evidence.
@futurebird Yeah, it got a lot of press, but hasn't stood up. My deep inclination to be cynical makes me suspect a degree of data manipulation in the original research (though quite probably not deliberate - we are all easily fooled by our own preconceptions)
