    @freemo I also love that you reduce the unique tribes and the unique DNA and unique cultures of the many indigenous peoples of North America as one racial group... how reductionist are you! I throw down a Red Race Card! Penalty! To the penalty box for you! :) Trying too hard, my friend Doc Freemo!

    @freemo yeah, but it so happens that America and American isn't defined as a race, only a Nation State and a Nationality. The bullshit trap is when someone intentially frames references to Mexico and Mexican or China/Chinese, etc, as Nation States and Nationalities but because it's so fun to throw stupid Race Cards everywhere, when someone calls it a Chinese Wall or China Virus (literally reference to the country and not even Chinese), and it's so obvious bullshit, what then, #nannystate #karen

    A "Chinese wall" is a virtual or physical barrier within a company, often a law firm or financial institution, designed to prevent the exchange of information between different departments or teams to avoid conflicts of interest or the misuse of confidential information. https://fed.brid.gy/r/https://bsky.app/profile/did:plc:76e4qryfph6q4wmz3li6v2l6/post/3lmutyh3uc22s

    @djsumdog well, I looked at a lot of what people said and a lot of it is "I believe that kind of thing, being undocumented, should be forgiven, as it has in the past" because nobody except the president, the white house, all of MAGA, the SCOTUS, and ICE fancy the being here undocumented or having maybe lied on the application and, in general, general intimidation to scare the fuck out of people even considering coming even if they're good people because being here illegally is still illegal.

    @freemo
    In short: Speech is protected, but immigration status adds complications. The government cannot lawfully deport someone only for voicing support for a cause—however controversial—but if that speech crosses legal boundaries or attracts scrutiny that reveals other grounds for removal, then “actions have consequences” becomes a practical reality.

    @freemo they are not being ejected for their free speech, actually, they're literally being ejected for being enemy combatants and allies of America's enemies. So, the free speech thing is a red herring. It's basically like ejecting commies but in this case they're the caught in a GWOT snare--and it's easier because they can use military grade rendition (the practice of sending a foreign criminal or terrorist suspect to be imprisoned in a country with less rigorous regulations)

    "Free speech doesn’t protect you from consequences,” right? That sword cuts both ways—it’s tested on easy-to-hate groups first, then used on whoever the government targets next.

    I'm wondering if fascism is a self fulfilling prophecy against activism. And it always gives both sides exactly what their little mad fever dreams always want: escalation and confrontation and infamy and immortality.

    If you're in the U.S. on a visa or with a Green Card, engaging in protests, mischief, or anti-social behavior can impact your status. The laws can be quite capricious, and enforcement may vary depending on the administration. It's important to understand the legal boundaries and how they might be interpreted.

    @freemo I totally agree with that I just have been relegated to throwing a vat of chicken flesh into the instant pot from a frozen block so blackening and crisping and seasoning and all that other kind of stuff and I'll be honest with you I end up being disgusted when I'm left with lots of Grizzle and Bone and it makes me not want to cook it again so I'm a p**** I am a trained white meat chicken breast p**** who is trying to adapt to a dark meat world.

    It's taken me until 55 to actually believe that boneless chicken thigh is a superior product. I blame my Irish Catholic New Jersey mum for all the skinless, boneless, breastmeat propaganda. I'm finally deprogrammed away from the Cult of White Meat Chicken. Hallelujah.
