A big open question when you talk about building an intentional community in an already populated area, is how involved do you want to be in your local government?
If you have no involvement at all, then you risk regulatory attack. Deep involvement allows you to most likely take control - but that introduces a different problem because now you are likely to draw the hatred of the outside community - who may eventually manage to wrestle control away from you, and will end up banning you entirely.
Libertarians in New Hampshire and Jews in the US are a bit in this tiger-by-the-tail scenario where they actually have pretty much seized control, but the rest of the population is irate enough that if they ever lose it they're probably going to be expelled en masse.
I think the right answer is to aim for control - but also to *extend* the advanced political decision making system to members of the outside community, roughly by going around like Jehovahs' Witnesses and knocking on doors - but with the mission of learning their needs, wants and feelings, to help that person feel understood, and integrate their needs into the master plan. In the ideal case, you gain another voter who is not part of the commune.
@Bleukitty There is the stock exchange. Commerce hub. At least used to be. And UN. But IMF and World bank is in D.C. And Federal Reserve. Not that the banksters need to be there. Maybe move closer to Asia...
@EvolLove Idd. Not just that. I remember when i was young they made big fuss that Jagger (then in his 40s) could run around on stage for 2 hours and sing. I thought that was pathetic. Pay to look at on old dude doing gymnastics. lol. Was about same time Jane Fonda did her training videos, iirc. 🤔 @tj
@vitalis That was fascinating. Never heard of it before, so did a quick search if it ever happened here in Sweden, but couldnt find any. The whitepainting of walls happened, but mostly over long time, not at the start of reformation. But the painting of motifs seems to have stopped 1650-1800. And during the 1800 hundreds there was a sort of fundamentalist revival that made congregations in some parts tear down their old small medieval churches, and build big white ones with very little "decor"
@tj These old rockers are pathetic. They are older than me, but try to look "younger" (more childish) than my children.Or my brother's grandchildren 🤣 And Roth claims his mother gave him the name "devil" sort of.😬 Wonder if she was a kabbalist?
