Back in my early 20’s when I refused to accept the label “feminist*” I was still a feminist thanks to my beliefs.

(* I had been exposed to a LOT of a particular brand of hateful “feminist” propaganda)

I think this is a pretty good overview of the potential concerns with BlueSky.

My quibble with Cory implying that moving instances is almost free, is that that while you can move server to server pretty seamlessly on fedi/AP, currently you lose your entire posting history.

I know there have been projects to allow full migration but they’re (so far) not really there.

I made a joke a few days ago about Mastodon development seeming slow compared to BlueSky but I’m also aware that a part of that perception on my part is that I follow pfrazee over on BS and he’s a pretty active poster.

Honestly I’d be fine if BSky supported video embeds to Mastodon, then I’d just post the video here and link from BSky. Sorta like how I repost good posts from BSky and bookmark them here.

Agree to disagree on the search. I’ve had multiple cases where I couldn’t find a post from someone on BS and was able to find it here. HOWever, the latest BS version seems improved.

@mmasnick I hope it succeeds too. I keep saying that we need to lose the “Bluesky/Mastodon needs to lose for Mastodon/BlueSky to win” mentality.

Obviously, right now I’m happier with Mastodon that I am BlueSky. BlueSky is just missing SO many _basic_ features right now:
