There was an issue with Lemmy, maybe it is not yet deployed everywhere?

1. if excerpt is set, use that
2. if read-more is set use that
3. generate excerpt from content and use that

how does that sound?

the problem with a dedicated shortcode is, if you use it and have a post without read-more (maybe because the text is too short) it will show nothing. that's why I would prefer the fallback solution I mention above.

@mike I checked it with my Mastodon Account and my WordPress blog and it seems to index the posts on Flipboard, but I can't see my Flipboard Account in the followers list?

Does flipboard send a real "Follow" request or does it simply subscribe to the outbox in a similar way as with RSS?

I would love to debug it a bit, so that it plays nicely with the WordPress plugin, but I can't see any requests to the inbox at all.
