Carrying spray adhesive comes in handy when it’s time to fix posters that MAGA/conservatives have torn down… like these ripped-up No King Day posters on Mission Street.

It's a huge bummer that Fiesta On The Hill used genAI for their official art this year, too. This event is usually packed with artists, many of whom could have made something nicer than this AI garbage.

So many AI-generated posters in our neighborhood lately. Comedy shows, house painters, community events… all rendered in the same generic slop-style. It even looks like the fonts are generated too, which creates weird artifacts and inconsistent letters. Gross.

I appreciate that some venues, like the Stork Club in Oakland, are getting ahead of this gen-AI trend by requiring all fliers be human made. "We don't care if it's a screenshot of the Notes app with the show info or a picture of a hand with band names written in Sharpie." (source https://www.instagram.com/p/DOZIJgoEq_0/?img_index=1)
I like this energy and hope more venues adopt similar policies. In conversation from mastodon.social permalink Attachments

This Battlestar Galactica quote feels more relevant than ever… so I turned it into a sticker!
Grab the frakkin' file from my site if you'd like to print your own batch of stickers. https://docpop.org/2025/09/battlestar-galactica-and-the-danger-of-militarized-policing/ #BattlestarGalactica

Wayback inaccuracies: Sometimes I'll be looking through archived pages on the Wayback Machine and notice a capture isn't actually from the date that is listed. For example, this archive from July 2023 doesn't line up with my personal captures of this same website site from that time. Some of the text even mentions events that had not yet happened, like meetings in 2024.
Has anyone else run into issues with archived pages that did not come from the dates listed?

@evan I've only 100%ed three games in my 20 years of Steam usage, and one of those was a demo (lol).
My most recent 100% game was Time Flies, which I beat this week.

This might be the most iconic yo-yo performance of all time.
Filmed yesterday at the World Yo-Yo Contest in Prague, Hajime Miura’s winning 3A performance stood out for its bold use of ambient music, with the crowd's reactions filling in the quiet spaces.
There were big dramatic tricks, along with intricate tech, killer flow, and regens that blurred the line between 2A and 3A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eDkv-vkml1Q #WYYC #yoyo

This Humble Bundle has some truly fantastic games for just $9. Far, Short Hike, and Journey To The Fantastic Planet are all great, but I think Forgotten City is the real gem here.
FC was originally released as a Skyrim mod, but has been fleshed out into it's own incredible game. It's short, unique, and has a real indie feel.

Did you know you can print and scan things for free at any SF Public Library?
In an era of ads and paid subscriptions, there’s something so subversive about a public service that just works. https://docpop.org/2025/06/printing-scanning-and-copying-are-things-you-can-do-in-san-franciscos-public-libraries/In conversation from mastodon.social permalink Attachments
