@dyckron Last year I was worried about the measles outbreaks. So I had my DO do a blood test since I lost my baby book decades ago. I have the antibodies. But reading articles on measles point out that having had measles just means that if you get it again, you won't be as miserable as the first time. And you won't be contagious.

So I'm still wearing a mask when I'm out shopping. And I haven't had the flu or a cold since the 2020 lockdown.

@jeridansky A friend and his wife used to live in Albany and had 3 cats. One had the cut habit of bringing in flowers from their camellia plants as "gifts". She like that so much better than turning the kitchen into a CSI crime scene. They moved and rehomed the cats but having met those cats.

I think my mom would have appreciated camellia blooms over half a gopher that our "might hunter" would leave in our garage.

@fixatedpersonsunit @pluralistic It's ironic that Boing Boing, Corey's creation is now entering end-stage enshitification. They've started requiring Adblockers to be disabled to view their site or pay $5/mo for the privilege. It probably started when Boing Boing started using Stack Commerce, really dodgy ecommerce provider, who offered questionable merch like a "private airconditioner" or that $40 128GB SSD drive that was really two thumb drives glued together internally. "All sales final. No returns or refunds." which my credit card company laughed at. Maybe now VISA and Mastercard will stop accepting charges from them.

@pluralistic I don't fault Boing Boing for offering the subscription or ad-supported model to allow people to access the site. But removing free access to articles just put it on the #BOINGBOINGENSHITIFIED list for me. I don't access sites that require me to turn off ad-blocking, so Boing Boing is now redirected to 127.0.0.1 and dead to me.

@glynmoody I think he'll feel the country before he goes to jail. Once the courts freeze his assets, he'll be on a private jet to some country where he's squirreled away enough assets to live. Or he'll stick around to the last minute and as the judge pronounces him guilty and sentences him, he'll mutter "Execute order 66" and all hell will break loose among the #MAGAIdiots

@andypiper @pfefferle You just talked me out of moving my site to Wordpress dot com. *I* want to control what and when I update my site. If I can't do that, why would I give Wordpress $$$ to f- up my site?
