     @glynmoody as this popped up in the news I realised, "... and Harris would very likely pardon him".

     So I won't be cheering a win from her as much as I thought.

     @glynmoody I expect her to do so because if she doesn't the next Rep candidate could campaign on it, but more in a vain attempt to bring America together or take away his martyr status.

     Anyway I think it's a significant possibility. Remember Tricky Dicky.

     @glynmoody @pitrh I've been telling people for a very long time: We saw what he was capable of, when he just wanted to stay in power. Now he has real crimes hanging in the balance, and if elected can simply order them to go away (there's a flaw in the system there somewhere...). How far will he go to avoid that? It's literally his only hope.

     Watch the video of 1) the guy who leaked a few docs on Discord, and 2) the "raid" on Mar-a-Lago. Discord guy: 16 years. Golf guy: still no trial...

     @glynmoody I think he'll feel the country before he goes to jail. Once the courts freeze his assets, he'll be on a private jet to some country where he's squirreled away enough assets to live. Or he'll stick around to the last minute and as the judge pronounces him guilty and sentences him, he'll mutter "Execute order 66" and all hell will break loose among the #MAGAIdiots

     @glynmoody it's not about party loyalty but political gain (over justice).

     I was young when Nixon was pardoned but even then I recognised it as corruption, blatant corruption at the level of the powerful, and never to trust that those with power will see the world the way I had been taught to.

     Hopefully we will get to see whether this happens!
