I found out, by means of a friendly neighbor, that bow/crossbow hunting is legal in my city, so long as u have written permission from every neighbor residence 50 yards from where you are.

This guy lives two houses down. He probably didn't need to ask my permission but I thought it was nice.

Anyway, literally 2 days after the encounter, a dear bolts in front of our car when my family was heading home from in-laws house.

@tek @packetcat I got stuck in Python dependency hell on Monday, which was a new experience for me. Left a sour taste in my mouth for Python :(

There wasn't a homebrew package available, so I had to set up a venv. I don't want a venv!

Spent the day with the family. Pumpkin patch in the morning. Went to a funeral/open mic for a friend and local-music celebrity.Played a few bangers on my acoustic.

I'll never forget seeing my toddler stop and stare up at me on stage while I played his song.

Lit a fire at home.

My infant son, after weeks of attempt, figured out crawling tonight. He crawled right toward the fireplace. My boy!

I set up a chair by the fire. Gonna read my book.

It is as good and wholesome as life can be.

I bitch about my job. But this world is built so that money solves a lot of problems. And I'm grateful that the corpos pay me to not have to worry about much. I have basic needs, extra comforts, and small luxuries abound.

But the cognitive dissonance is always there. Like a distant scream.

I know I'm chasing a dangling carrot. I know this same system shits on "undesireables". I know that on a corpo whim I could be in a precarious financial situation.

I'm a bad anarchist.

Neighbor just dropped off a pile of tomatoes. And some parsley. I have an idea.

I'm gonna chuck them up and throw them in my pressure cooker with some pasta. toss in all the raw ingredients, see if the liquid from the tomatoes gets absorbed into the pasta real good? So I have a scratch spaghetti sauce in pasta, all in one fell swoop.

It's a novel idea... I'm praying like hell it works.

I'd love to set up a web page / app that just raids every cookie it can find, and gleans as much data as possible on a user with as little direct user interaction or authorization as possible.

Like, you show up on a chrome browser, it tells you about the smart TV on your home network, 3rd party cookies gets your Adobe audience Manager ID and that displays your targeted ad demographics.

Almost like "Red team" privacy work. I'm doing Blue team privacy work rn and it's less fun.

My wife is scheduled for induction next Monday. Baby #2 is on its way real sooon. It feels like the storm before the storm.

I'm scrambling to wrap up projects at work and our toddler has diarrhea. The lion's share of cooking, cleaning, and baby care falls on the non-pregnant parent.

The silver lining: my employer's parental leave policy is a generous 3-months of paid leave. I'll be taking advantage of that.

Just 1.5 weeks to go. Super Dad powers, activate!
