@sdouglass I guess it depends on the crowd. But music videos have worked for me -- and for getting friends to listen to music - thats about it.

As far as getting my music listened to, I had a windfall of music streams (around 5k on spotify) after a couple of songs were used by a popular youtuber on a video.

@feld so there's this big organization called IAPP and they throw these big (comparatively) boring privacy conferences.

At tech conferences, there's a presenter and they have a slide deck and their usually demoing or explaining something they think is neat.

At priv conferences, it's all panels where 3-5 people are discussing court cases and BSing.

Anyway. One panels topic was Future of privacy tech. At Q&A, I mentioned paying for privacy. I was looked at like I had 3 heads.

My company gave marching orders for me to check our apps and make sure our consent management platform was properly gating Kochava SDKs from loading.

I never bothered checking why... but hot damn I just read the FTC press release.

The folks who decided that internet content should be monetized with ads had no idea what a fucked up world they'd create.

Driving today, I saw a bumpersticker that read, in big bold letters. "I AM AGAINST"

And underneath it, in smaller print, it said the name of a polarizing political figure - former Wisconsin state Governer Scott Walker.

And I'm just thinking, yeah that guy was a tool. Fucked up a big deal with Foxconn, fucked with environmental regulations, and fucked with the teachers union. A general asshat.

But hey me bumper sticker, what, or who, do you stand for? Tell me what you support!
