     @feld@bikeshed.party I mean, basically, yeah. Crypto isn't gone, and it will probably always exist, but I don't ever see it getting to the levels it was at previously.

     @feld@bikeshed.party Where it was being heavily invested in and widely embraced for a brief period of time and taken seriously outside of people who were already "into" crypto. There was a lot of work being done in that space across the board and a lot of hype---most of that has died out, and I don't think it's ever coming back. Could be a blessing in disguise for crypto as a whole, who knows?

     @feld@bikeshed.party A lot of prices have come down. Most of the people I knew/know who were regularly "keeping up with" and trading crypto have completely stopped...which, I think, is a good thing. That's why I said it all could be a "blessing in disguise" for crypto since what crypto *isn't* and *shouldn't be* is a security commodity. Crypto being treated by people like a stock is what gave it so much volatility which made it not-ideal for use as a currency.

     Monero -- sure, it's private. the community is too entrenched in "fuck the government, taxes are theft" mindset. Onramp / offramp is too hard. (I know a BTC swap is coming soon)
