Really want a foursquare like thing for the fediverse. Could be a client app that just grabs GPS data and adds it to the post body if nothing else but that probably wouldn't go any where cause it's only fun when there is a certain mass of people also using the same tool
Seeking recommendations for a simple #Android image editor that has the ability to draw on screenshots and be set as the default for editing system wide. Would prefer something as close to iOS as possible, and FOSS
I know it might be tempting to name your new fediverse account @admin, @index, @updates, @blog, etc... If you do, your new name will be really hard for people to use on the fediverse. Most clients/servers are not very good at ranking usernames in the @mention auto complete field...
I have seen very little fediverse merch out in the world. I saw @andypiper wearing some at FOSDEM and I have seen @kyva thinking about making some but I think this might be an underutilized funding source for the fediverse. Especially if they are made by humans not print on demand companies. Know any screenprinters active on the fedi that we can engage with?
Is there really not a standard to display battery status of Bluetooth headphones yet? The fact that I have to install a special app on Android to show if my AirPods are about to die is so silly.
Came across these obnoxious photos of Vint Cerf and Tim Berners-Lee. Neither the web nor the internet were "invented" by them, it's such an absurd statement to make. Yes they were were pivotal people who have done a lot to make the networked world we live in, but to continue to propagate this "Great man theory" is just so absurd...
Just noticed this "Open in the application? " banner on @framasoft's "What is the fediverse" @peertube video and I have the app installed thru @fdroidorg but it takes me to the Google Play download page for it instead of opening it in the app. Makes for a really bad fediverse experience, we need to figure out these sorts of flows and make sure they reliably work. #fedidev#peertube#fediverse
@Lodewijk@waag@sandradejong love that your doing this! (but can we please stop with this Trump inspired idium? Make******Again is honestly so so tiring it hurts my eyes to see it)
@sandradejong this phrasing was not in common usage before "MAGA" and (at least as an American English speaker) can not be used without making a nod to Trump even if its being used in a totally different context.
@tomjennings is someone who I could argue has had a foundational impact on the web in a similar fashion as Tim but is rarely mentioned in these sorts of places. But maybe this has more to do with what we view as "the web"
