Let's say you wanted to block a bunch of rogue web crawlers run by slop companies from your website.

What are some tricks you'd apply?

I already have a list of AS numbers that send garbage traffic around and I'm also looking at non-standard user agents.

@brooke just mount /var/log in /tmp and add @ daily reboot to your crontab.

@sarajw I figured some testing can be non-anonymous… then people can save the real questions after everyone has stopped typing “jdgsgsshvd” and “hello world” on the form.

@mgifford No, but I do miss the ability to just eat anywhere. I'm very allergic to shellfish, so between that and being vegetarian its a battle.

Finding the correct sand has proven challenging too.

Model on the right is using sand I can buy anywhere. It’s too chunky.

On the left a much finer grain of sand but it’s sold as a miniature product so it’s way more expensive.

Trying an experiment where I put the sand on the base before the miniature and then superglue the miniature on afterwards. If this works I have 60 bases to glue sand onto tomorrow. If this doesn’t work I have to awkwardly add it afterwards.
