actually going to the store to get some asian potato chips for my team in monterey right this moment. i was also having a separate which potato chips do you love convo at work haha

Irvins salted egg chips are a pretty recent invention (I used to go to their restaurant, where they made salted egg crab dishes, before they found the jackpot with the snacks)

But basically stuff like that: extreme umami is what I like in my snacks. I also like the delicious curry leaf flavor that reminds me of a lot of dishes from home.

For standard crisps, I discovered NZ's Proper Crisps when I was visiting and I really like very basic and good classic crisps like that.

I get most of my snacks from Asian and Mexican grocery stores. When I go to TJ's or or Safeway or Whole Foods, zero of the flavors speak to me. Well maybe the Irish blue cheese crisps that TJ's sometimes has.

@meganL @Andres4NY Thailand Lays has a 2 in 1 potato chip: half the flavors taste like grilled shrimp, the other half like seafood sauce. I'm a fan and find a lot of the US flavors kind of boring. I would be fine if I could have a decent classic one that was just good quality and not just filler.

@spiegelmama i like sour cream & onion and anything super savory. most bbq and vinegary flavors are overwhelming for me somehow
