I don’t think this is something you can “renewable“ away. How do you fix this with solar energy? Think about it. Plants use solar energy already. Where does the fertilizer come from? What about the pesticides and the herbicides?

And the sulfur that comes from the sour crude from the Gulf. That’s a feed stock for the chemicals that are used to extract things like cobalt and copper and other minerals.

How does wind or solar provide those feed stock?

You know what’s interesting about something like the fediverse? It has a potential for families to have their own mastodon instance for starters..

I think it is most important to convey to people what they can do in their immediate communities to adapt to these conditions because they are not gonna go away, and if the conditions are not adapted to death and economic destruction are par for the course.

In a world where the national and global supply chains, and indeed the institutional structures are called and the question, people have the most agency by taking action locally.
