@liztai Forgive my prior reply. I was unintentionally replying to the wrong post.
It didn't occur to me to use an LLM for translations, but that certainly makes sense. If a large language model can't translate, what good is it?

What is the best non-Google free language translator, specifically to translate Mandarin and Cantonese to English and back?
@hellomiakoda if I didn't need a truck bed on a regular basis, I'd still be driving a Kia Soul. I've been in bigger vehicles with less passenger space.
Koreans know how to maximize space in a vehicle.
@hellomiakoda I have 3-4 of them on PC but have yet to play them. I'm not sure why. Must have been a really good sale or something.
I hope to play them eventually. Time will tell.
@hellomiakoda I hope it's tiny and harmless!
@alice Doubt caltrops is my new favorite term. That could not have been described any better.
I just reached out to the four people on Facebook who I do not have alternate contact info for. I told them I will be closing my account in a few days and gave them my contact information.
Within five minutes they all replied with their contact information. I'll be informing my D&D group tomorrow during our game. Friday, I'll deactivate.
It really is that easy. If you want to delete yours, do not let the fear of losing people stop you.
@hellomiakoda I've never beaten that game. I should rectify that.
@Kierkegaanks We also remember the silver medalist assassin who intentionally avoided the gold so as not to blow his cover.
@ekis I don't think he's getting enough. My boy, Luigi, deserves the world!
@mrencyclopedia I hope they don't get a dime. Maybe people will finally learn POLICE FUCKING LIE!
@silverwizard I concur. This is why even when I'm at my worst, I don't bail.
That, and I swore I would be a far better parent than my mother was despite my mental health issues. She walked out on us when I was 10. My youngest is 11. I sometimes have to remind myself I am factually better than my mother, despite being far more mentally ill.
I'll take that W. 😎
(Thanks for the assist)
@silverwizard I consider that a good thing, even if we were to ignore safety.
I've never had enough of a mastery in any specific topic to share more than basic knowledge with the kids. Truth be told, many aspects of their general knowledge exceeded mine before they hit puberty. No doubt the result of growing up in a world with more information and more connections to others.
At 10, I was playing with ninja turtles in the sandbox with my little brother. At the same age, my eldest became an artist, cosplayer, and surprisingly good TikTok user. My son, by 10, knew at least twice what I knew at that age and keeps learning more at breakneck speeds. He very much has the ADHD/ASD combo subtype that makes him want to know everything there is to know about the universe. I think he's halfway there with as much as he's told me.
It's amazing how smart today's kids are. Enjoy the ride. It keeps getting better.
@silverwizard That had never occurred to me before.
But then my children are no longer that young, so I guess I'm less likely to make that connection, shocking as it is.
@silverwizard I foolishly believed USB-C would be the standard that unites us all. Instead, they had to give us eleventeen different versions of it.
Someone clever needs to make one universal standard (oh, is that was the U stands for?), patent it, then make it free for use for everyone the way Volvo did with the 3-point seatbelt.
@persagen Good. If anyone has earned it, she sure as hell has.
@silverwizard Damn. You have great hair. I'm jealous.
*cries in bald*
@Melissabeartrix No. I've only ever had it be an issue one time, but that issue led to days of work to correct.
Bear in mind, I worked in IT where I was doing this several times per day. It's probably even less likely to be an issue for the average user.
