   @pierrenick @MastodonEngineering I see major issues if this will stop people from linking to others' posts on demand.

   Assholes will be assholes and won't be able to be called out because they'll just stop you from linking to their post.

   It'll be the biggest moderation issue we've had in a long time.

   Fedi moderation is traditionally done in the open while linking to the bad behavior so that other moderators have proof of the behavior in case "evidence" is requested.

   This kills that. People will have to just "trust me bro" and hopefully get screenshots.🤦♂️

   It's not a coincidence that the American far right is so in love with Victor Orban. He kind of provided a blueprint of how to take over, while making people feel isolated, hopeless, and defeated.

   It didn't occur to me to use an LLM for translations, but that certainly makes sense. If a large language model can't translate, what good is it?
