@rvinson @eee @sickburnbro @SuperSnekFriend @TrevorGoodchild Oh, and while we're at it:
Please tell me if there's any actual distinction between "living" and "surviving".
In case this isn't obvious enough for you, this is a test as to whether you actually critically read every quote you're given and don't just post shit because it seems nice.

@rvinson @TrevorGoodchild @eee @sickburnbro Out of context quote. Plato would be entirely ok with using force to stop someone from committing evil if necessary.
If committing evil harms yourself (and it does, actually) and only force will get you to desist, how is using force in this case evil?

@rvinson @eee @sickburnbro @TrevorGoodchild Yes, please keep quoting shit you don’t understand. It’s not like I’ve actually read Plato or anything.

@rvinson @eee @sickburnbro @TrevorGoodchild Does your identity revolve around quoting shit you don’t actually understand?

@SuperSnekFriend @rvinson @eee @sickburnbro @TrevorGoodchild I had that experience with him when he tried quoting Plato at me, somehow thinking I have zero familiarity with Plato so I would be impressed with his cherry-picked quotes

@rvinson @eee @sickburnbro @SuperSnekFriend @TrevorGoodchild I'm sorry but exactly what point is this image supposed to communicate? Did you actually think this through or is this supposed to be some sort of hyper-esoteric sekrit that I'm just too dumb to understand?

@rvinson @eee @sickburnbro @SuperSnekFriend @TrevorGoodchild Want to also know what small minds do? Small minds also don't understand what they're quoting, don't know what point they're trying to communicate and aren't actually interested in any sort of serious conversation.
(In case you haven't figured it out, you're guilty of all three.)

@rvinson @eee @sickburnbro @SuperSnekFriend @TrevorGoodchild Oh, for the first time you're actually using your own voice to speak instead of telling the TV or some impersonal object to speak for you.
I already explained it. Go back and check again.

@EJGeneric @BowsacNoodle @Volkish_Observer @LostShakerOfSalt @tyler @HyperboreanWave @vic If he’s actually Russian then saying Russia #1 is to be expected, maybe even encouraged
The tankie shit is cringe though

Tankie yes (and it’s still cringe) but reddit-tankie I’m probably a bit more skeptical
He at least is more upfront and honest about being interested only in power (which is basically all leftists). I would imagine that reddit-tankies try to hide all of that behind sound-good feel-good liberal hippie stuff.

@BowsacNoodle @Hoss @ainmosni @mrsaturday Whatever we choose, it must still be understood that violence in the long term is not a substitute for genuine friendship and wisdom

@BowsacNoodle @Hoss @ainmosni @mrsaturday Fascism as I understand it is more top down, distributism is the other way around
A lot of the right wing/left wing division I also consider to be arbitrary

@VikingWays @KarlDahl @wingedhussar @yockeypuck @cowanon @Omega_Variant @doctorsex @BowsacNoodle @poastoak The next question then would be whether you could have the Winged Hussars that he knows and loves without Christendom.
(The only correct answer is no.)

@wingedhussar @VikingWays @KarlDahl @yockeypuck @cowanon @Omega_Variant @doctorsex @BowsacNoodle @poastoak It can be argued they wouldn’t even be there to rescue Vienna in the first place, since there wouldn’t be the same solidarity that Christendom (which basically was the whole of Europe at that time) provided

@BowsacNoodle @wingedhussar @cowanon @Omega_Variant @doctorsex @poastoak Don’t tell anyone that generally, Inquisitors were popular because they, in general, judged fairly and understood things like due process

@wingedhussar @BowsacNoodle @cowanon @Omega_Variant @poastoak >secular far right
You really can’t have secularism alongside thinking that things like virtue, justice and meaning of life, all of which are believed to exist by anyone worthy of being on the right, can exist

@wingedhussar @BowsacNoodle @cowanon @Omega_Variant @poastoak Meaning is something mental, though. You grasp it by thought, not through the senses. How do you touch meaning? Or smell meaning? Or taste meaning? If you don't believe in anything beyond the physical, meaning cannot exist.
For that matter, forget about seeing patterns in nature, since patterns are immaterial. They must be, or else you could not possibly explain why the same pattern can simultaneously be fully present in multiple points in time and space. They must both be spatially and temporally unbound.

@wingedhussar @cowanon @Omega_Variant @BowsacNoodle @poastoak This requires further elaboration. Are you referring to things like miracles?

@wingedhussar @cowanon @Omega_Variant @BowsacNoodle @poastoak Ok, so for what reason do you make fun of the Christian God as a "magic man in the sky"? Because they think (ultimate) reality is spirit?

@wingedhussar @cowanon @Omega_Variant @BowsacNoodle @poastoak >magic man in the sky
Pretty sure at least for Augustine of Hippo (a highly respected Christian saint, btw), God is not a mere "magic man in the sky". God for him, to put it simply, is Existence Itself. In fact this is also the case for Thomas Aquinas AFAIK, who thinks God is Being Itself. The point being that to say Christians think of God as "magic man in the sky" is a strawman with little basis in reality.
