Short answer is "Studies suggest that COVID-19 vaccines are most effective during the first three months after vaccination”
Longer answer is more complicated. A meta-analysis found that protection was about 30% 9 months after a booster:

@mmasnick Thanks for posting here. I always enjoy your opinions and commentary and usually don’t see them if they’re not posted here
(Not sure if I understand the dig at Mastodon replies. I haven’t seen many problems aside from the usual that you’d get anywhere)
@kaia "the skull of a woolly rhino, the legs of a woolly mammoth, and the horn of a narwhal”

Because it’s Dublin
"If we do this correctly — if the next phase of how we congregate and communicate online is built for humans and not advertisers — there won’t be a new titanic company to rival Meta or a platform with eye-poppingly huge numbers like Facebook
"What we’ll get instead is something much bigger: an entirely new infrastructure for our online lives that no company or platform controls”

Also, the 2A could be interpreted to only apply to militias, i.e. the only right to bear arms applies to within the demesne of organized militias, i.e. the government can regulate non-militia weapons as much as it likes
Chemical weapons?
Tanks and bazookas?
Nuclear weapons?
You really believe citizens should be able to “bear” all of those “arms”??
@freemo @mike805 @georgetakei For 50 years, courts across the country agreed that the 14th amendment protects the right to abortion
It’s as cut and dry as the 2nd amendment to me 🤷🏼
@ArrowbearMoore @LeftistLawyer Consumerism also fuels climate change and environmental collapse, perhaps even more than capitalism itself (?). Consider every single-use plastic purchase or filling up the tank to drive to Costco ...
Any neurologists out there with a background in sleep research who would be willing to be interviewed for a CNET article on delayed sleep phase disorder/syndrome?
I’ve got a young writer who could use some help. Long shot, but if you see this message and would be willing to help with an interview, let me know. Thanks!

@fediversereport @Teri_Kanefield @snarfed.org When do you think Bluesky will have open signups?
"I have spent decades looking for examples of Google putting its enormous thumb on the scale to censor or amplify certain results, and it hadn’t even occurred to me that Google just flat out deletes queries and replaces them with ones that monetize better.”
Absolutely bonkers. The Google antitrust trial discovered that Google is actually *changing user queries* in order to generate results that give more sponsored ads

Sinead O’Connor means a lot to me, more than maybe any musician ever
Of all the many amazing songs that will stay with me forever, I’m thinking of this song the most today

@mekkaokereke @fivetonsflax I have seen it first-hand in Boston. I’m not trying to defend Boston at all
I’m just wondering how it compares to where I grew up — Louisville, KY. I would guess Louisville is just as racist or more so than Boston. Just my $0.02
@mekkaokereke @fivetonsflax I agree that there’s racism in the northern states, but I don’t agree there’s *as much* racism in the north compared to the south
I’m basing that on my own personal experience, of course. The most racism I’ve seen personally is around the Detroit area and those suburbs/exurbs, but Georgia feels much different (though I haven’t spent much time there)
@fivetonsflax @mekkaokereke Like most everywhere, it’s remarkably segregated, so it’s easy for white people to visit and not even see Black people … "what racism?”
And Boston perhaps deserves its bad rap, but also perhaps not to the extent that it’s been portrayed
