That means it can only be done by people who are well off enough to take the time to do it. Development driven by the rich looks very different than development by the poor. Find a fair medium?

I'm all for accepting free work from those who can donate their time, but want to see more support more developers who need the financial help.

Went out to have a look-see at the #ottawa night sky, and behold, we saw #aurora from the storm that arrived today. My phone saw much more than my mark one eyeball could, although it was visible.

We're in Lowertown, and surrounded by city lights, but managed to find a dark spot in a nearby park by the Rideau River.

All the layers of security that we can deploy to protect our clients doesn’t stand a chance if the staff aren't educated about putting URLs, usernames, and passwords on sticky notes at on monitors in spaces that the public can see. (not a client of mine, but I did email them) 🤷🏻

Healthcare plans vary widely, the federal government is (partially) responsible for funding it, provinces administer it, so levels of service can vary from province to province (which is dumb in my opinion; healthcare should be healthcare).

In provinces with "conservatives" in power, there's a general push to a two-tier system; public and paid. The only in favour of this are the companies who would profit.

Getting close to my plank target again - probably because I haven't been doing the "normal" exercise regimen.

The ride around #Ottawa was really great; nice and cool, and there were a lot of runners out today - probably something organized by the grouping.

I accidentally reset my DJI to factory and didn't put all my settings back, so I'm not sure today's ride video will be any good. 🤦🏻

Monday:

23.6 km of #cycling (11°C with a winds gusting to 38km/hr)

Really enjoyed the cycling today, even with the wind. Did a quick cycle-around Lebreton Flats to see how things are progressing before heading home.

Workouts will be changing this week somewhat as I'll have to be onsite earlier, though I'm not sure how yet. Guess I'll find out tomorrow. 🤣

Forgot to post the weekend's rides;
Saturday: ~53km (watch got paused somehow) on the way back from safety training.
Sunday: 25.6km of #cycling with @TAV.

Bit rainy and delightfully cool. Lots of walking in the rain, followed by tea or hot chocolate. Nice relaxing day with @TAV.

Managed *sixteen* hours here before I had to pull the laptop out to fix something a client broke. We're right on the edge of cell service, so interwebs are s-l-o-w.

Made it safely up to Algonquin Park. Was pretty windy with some intense rain on the way as we drove, but it's generally over now.

Tuesday: 121 seconds of plank, 20 minutes of HIIT with Kim, 11 minutes of Yoga for runners, followed by 6.5 km of #running (3°C).

Bailed on the planned 10k because (sigh) my right need was bugging me again. Maybe time to change shoes that are @ 1,600+kms.🤔

Nice to be out in a tshirt again though.

Excited for the weekend, hope I have time to watch Dune 1 & 2 (and maybe the original 1984 film too). 🤞🏻
