If the current president is trying to genocide the largest marginalized group in America why are we at all shocked that he’s fine with genocide on the Palestinians? They can’t vote for him, we can and he’s still trying to kill us all.

THIS IS SO BADASS. This man runs a very queer friendly café, in 2018 he woke up to find his café’s #Facebook page deleted, so he decided to file an action to get back some lost revenue from people thinking he was closed because it was suddenly gone. #Meta lied and lied, and he won.

I think this is great, good for them. I’m just so confused about how it’s discrimination for Dunkin’ Donuts to charge nondairy customers extra for nondairy milk, but it’s not discrimination when medically vulnerable people are forced to remove respirators to enter some establishments (like MGH who makes you remove your mask to wear a hospital issued mask or you could just wear no mask at all)

@thomasfuchs I think some of these people recently left Medium because it was going to train AI with their work, now they have to move again. I’m not saying they shouldn’t, I’m just saying I understand why they might not be doing it immediately.

Maybe give them a little grace to get through the holidays before they go through it again if you think they’re worth it.

@Kjl @ContraindiKate These are hard conversations, but every time I’ve had them I was immediately informed that I would have caught Covid (or something) if I hadn’t had the conversation.

Like making someone wear a mask in my car when they needed a ride, two days later they were sick and found out their best friend had Covid. Because we wore masks in my car I did not catch anything from her when she was pre-symptomatic.

A friend was stopping by for a moment and asked if she could bring her kid, I said sure I’ll just come out and say hi to you guys you don’t have to come in. Then she decided not to bring her kid, I went outside anyway.
The next day her kid woke up sick and tested positive for Covid. If I hadn’t said anything she would’ve been in my apartment the evening before.

I went to visit a friend and I told her I always wear a mask inside with other people so not to take it personally, I sat in her apartment with her and three other people and socialized for more than an hour. We had a great time, the mask was not a problem at all except that I couldn’t sit there and drink water like I do. Anway, two days later she told me she just tested positive for strep throat.

I’ve been shown time and time again that it’s never the wrong decision to be cautious.
Even if it is, worst case is I just wore a mask when it wasn’t necessary, or talked to someone outside instead of on my sofa. But so far the universe keeps showing me that having those difficult conversations is literally saving my life.

@AnthonyJK @mutualaid @mutual_aid I am so sorry you live in a red state, I was going to suggest trying city welfare. I live in New Hampshire and I sat in eviction court with a friend yesterday and the pro bono attorney was telling her that the city welfare is paying peoples rent if they can’t pay, they will even pay a month ahead so you can catch up on life.

@AnthonyJK i’m really excited for you to get your student loan debt discharged. I remember about 10 years ago when doctors around here started charging hundreds of dollars just to complete paperwork for people, it was pretty horrifying to see. Like if I have to apply for disability I don’t have hundreds of dollars for you so you can sign this form saying I’m disabled, and it’s pretty gross that they require that.
