@6G @paninid @atomicpoet @samxavia I love the Mastodon community, but there are some extremely vocal people who don’t quite grasp the concept of decentralization: they seem to want to control what everyone can see.

Don’t want to see Threads or BlueSky? Fine, block them. Do it at your account level, or at the server level if you’re an admin. But trying to block them from the Fediverse as a whole is just gross.

I’m starting to realize that Mastodon may have ruined other social media for me. Just deleted Reddit - even the (relatively) low levels of dbags and other annoyances there are just more than I need in my life anymore.

Why put up with all the illiteracy, infantilism, and general idiocy when I can just enjoy myself and learn things on the Fediverse?

@Urban_Hermit @TonyStark Look - arguably our most successful President brought the country out of a worldwide depression, basically won the greatest armed conflict in history, and served almost 4 consecutive terms *from a wheelchair*. Physical ability is not an important factor for the job. I would argue not being a wannabe dictator is a far more important consideration

@TonyStark @Urban_Hermit I’m becoming increasingly disgusted by how little credit Biden is getting for the very good work he’s doing. It really makes me question how much people on both sides really believe in what they say they want, because they don’t even seem to recognize it when they get it. I worry that America has become so addicted to the spectacle that it can’t even *see* reality anymore. Brave New World.

Unless you’re paying your admin, you have zero right to demand or expect anything from them and it’s on *you* as a user to whom this (or any other issue) is important to follow that stuff.

If you don’t agree with how your admin runs their instance, fire up your own

Anybody who really objects to it can just block it. I don’t understand why they’re trying to get the rest of us to do it too – it’s their decision, but it’s not necessarily mine or anyone else’s
