The Chinese did a lot of interesting things. They had gunpowder, but never invented firearms. They had incredibly well-built seagoing vessels and sailed to the Persian Gulf - but that was all shut down. They had the press, but Chinese, with 8000+ characters doesn't work well with moveable type....

The stupid old saying goes "Americans invent and Chinese steal" drives me crazy.

The world has three levels: Sellers, Makers and Thinkers. At the bottom, Sellers sell raw logs, Makers turn them into chairs and the Thinkers buy the chairs to sit in.

Thinkers make money with technology transfer. They depend on Makers to turn their fine ideas into commodities. The Sellers want to build Maker factories.

I'm from a Thinker culture which used to be a Maker and a Seller before.

When Hamas came to power, they murdered all the PA officials, especially the policemen. Dragged them into the streets, shot them through the head. Hamas is no different than ISIS - they enforce Islamic hudud law.

Now, I'd never say this out loud - I'd get dogpiled - but is there an argument to be made, however odd it may sound... that IDF is liberating Gaza from Islamic terrorism, as the USA did in Mosul, for example?
