     I can't imagine the faster speeds are conducive to fuel economy

     The worst drivers are the Italians, far and away. Some rusty little Fiat roaring past a big Mercedes S Class in a cloud of smoke - must be seen to be believed.

     sadly there's no alternative to driving. if you don't permit a certain percentile to drive, you'd have to provide solid public transport Soviet-style where the only person requiring a car was the doctor and the local communist.

     @kaia @Rocc Pretty much yeah, which I'm pretty sure you're going to have to do anyway given how stupidly expensive using and buying a car is getting compared to median wage.
