@gamingonlinux Yeah €55 for a piece of plastic doesn't sound bad at all, right? For that price it should have been from different materials, I'd say.
If you want it plastic, just print it on a 3D printer, treat it in food-grade epoxy and you're good-to-go. If you don't plan on using it for food, you can skip the epoxy.

#Meta is apparently blocking posts and accounts mentioning abortion pills. I really, really hope that EU makes a push and bans Meta here if they don't comply.
Could be a great chance to develop our own social media platforms, perhaps even using #ActivityPub and become the herald of open social media.

@BeAware @aj Mastodon accepts Article as well, same with Page (which is what Lemmy uses for posts). Lemmy uses Note for comments.
The problem is with the general incompatibility, Lemmy doesn't have user following at all.

@BeAware @aj Interacting with Lemmy from Mastodon sucks, for example. And I assume it's the same for many other Fediverse apps.

@gamingonlinux Not that I disagree, but what prompted this?

Well, seems like my current #BambuLab printer is the last and it's back to #Prusa (which is shitty too, but slightly less).

I created an #ActivityPub library for #PHP which uses modern PHP 8.4 features. Each input is fully validated and fully typed, there's support for Signature header validating / generating and some other sweet stuff.
Note that it's currently in alpha, mainly because it's not tested yet and there are most likely many bugs, but tests are coming soon(ish).
Random fact: 3 bug reports for #PhpStorm were created in the process of creating the package.

@gamingonlinux What are everyone's issues with Matrix? It works pretty sweet for me.

@InfiniteHench The vast majority of games are compatible. Unless you're into multiplayer games with anticheat.
Anyway, you don't need SteamOS, any gaming-focused distro is fine.

@soulsource @InfiniteHench True, but gaming focused distros are just better when your thing with the computer is mostly gaming.
But yeah, Fedora, Linux Mint or other mainstream easy-to-use distros are fine as hell.
I personally prefer Nobara which is basically Fedora + some patches and it works well.

@maegul While nice to have it natively, the current proposal is seriously lacking. I've been using my own LemmyWebhook package and unless they seriously rework the proposal, it's gonna be the winner when it comes to capabilities.
Though I'm looking forward to actually deprecating it in favor of a native solution, if that time comes.

@HeavenlyPossum I quite agree with the sentiment, but let's be real: The former owner would be killed.
You communists like to pretend how understanding and welcoming you are, but the fact remains that communism killed and impoverished more people than nazism.
Note that the problem is not inherent to communism - it's inherent to people and it's gonna happen again if communists seize power.
