Something sounds weird to me in this #MarvelRivals layoff situation. TBC: I’m not defending layoffs, I’m a big believer these days of diplomacy through guillotines with billionaires.

But we now know the team that was laid off was in Seattle, included 7 people, and the “game director.” Via: https://www.destructoid.com/marvel-rivals-game-director-and-team-laid-off-despite-strong-launch/

But why would the director of a game that is owned by, designed in, and built in China be in *Seattle*, with a team of only 6 other people? Does this seem weird to anyone else or is this common in game dev?

Just discovered Bizly and his game essays on #YouTube. He does these bits where he places himself in some of the scenes, sometimes for drama or comedy, usually just the vibe.

They’re so extra, sometimes cheesy. But notice that he spends the time to light himself for the scene he’s in, I assume with post processing. It’s so above and beyond what I usually see in this genre of essay. I appreciate it.

Sony is cross publishing now too, but Nintendo—much as I’ve grown to loathe it—hasn’t budged and shows no sign that it needs to.

Even with strong rumors of a Switch 2 around the corner, the Switch still sells like crazy.
