@ChrisFerguson Yeah but stuff like shutting down tournaments, going after people for playing 30 year old games that can't even be bought anymore?
Shortsighted and just plain selfish business decisions
Being intentionally terrible at social features, refusing to add game chat to the original Switch and now acting like it's some amazing new feature 20+ years after it's been on the market?
This interview reminds me of the time #Helldivers2 players were able to unlock a new type of anti-tank mines if we completed a Major Order; basically missions the community must finish as a collective—defend this planet, kill X million bugs, save X civilians, etc.
We failed the mission once, failed it a second time, then on the third chance we had to choose between earning the anti-tank mines or saving a bunch of (fictional) sick kids in a hospital. We couldn’t do both
The community chose to save the kids over earning the anti-tank mines. Kids who did not exist. There was no carrot dangled for saving them, but we overwhelmingly chose that option. And won
Arrowhead then donated money to an IRL kids hospital. Heartwarming stuff
I like these #Helldivers2 folks at Arrowhead. Nice interview:
“I want us to be a role model for how to do sustainable growth, because the industry today is not in a good place. A lot of companies are shedding a lot of jobs. And it's not the people at the top that are losing their jobs, it's people who have moved half across the world to take jobs. And that’s because of bad growth decisions made by business leaders who have taken stupid risks.” https://www.thegamebusiness.com/p/helldivers-2s-big-challenge-how-to
Nice #DoomTheDarkAges interview with Hugo Martin and Marty Stratton. I’ve enjoyed their approach to changing the core gameplay loop with each modern Doom, and Dark Ages looks so far like another winner to me.
“ #Nintendo#Switch2… Bringing New Forms of Game Communication to Life”
No. Nintendo finally got over its arrogant, sheltered pretentiousness just a little bit and finally added a 20+ year old chat feature to its next console
@null_aleph That’s the other perspective I was slowly forming. You die, explode, get dismembered, etc. enough, and your Ghost fixes you up every time, what’s the big deal about a little self-mutilation that you know can be easily repaired?
Perhaps it is easy to become… complacent in one’s immortality
@null_aleph Since it’s this kind of universe: Can a ghost numb or anesthetize a guardian in a situation like this? Or did they just straight up tank the pain of cutting their own tongue off??
Turns out the twerking Venom emote in #MarvelRivals isn’t a joke or a mod. It’s a real reward you can earn by finishing the in-game Galacta’s Cosmic Adventure event.
Basic challenges like deal/take damage as a handful of characters, get a few short kill streaks, etc. All doable in bots if you prefer. Earn a unique event material, roll the dice to move around Galacta’s game board, earn some currency and cosmetics.
Only able to be earned through 4/3, so you don’t have a ton of time. But it shouldn’t take long. 😆
Apparently the lore behind Finality’s Auger (the latest dungeon exotic) involves the weapon basically willing itself into existence. That does not seem… good #Destiny2
Destiny Warlock. Pro at falling off cliffs while aiming. My nephew said I should start streaming, so here we are. I love to laugh. Gamertag of @chartier he/him #VideoGames #Destiny2 #BLM #TransRights #equity
