@aj why would you need to do that...? AFAIK, with some small nuances, you don't need an account for every software, you can follow all ActivityPub accounts from one account, no matter which software they're using.

@chrastecky @aj that's actually Mastodon's fault and it COULD be changed/fixed if they cared about their user experience.
The main reason it sucks so bad is cause Mastodon only accepts "Note" type ActivityPub posts and Lemmy uses "Article" type. If Mastodon complied with the specs of the protocol, it would work fine.

@BeAware @aj Interacting with Lemmy from Mastodon sucks, for example. And I assume it's the same for many other Fediverse apps.

@chrastecky @aj strange, as I'm followed by multiple Lemmy accounts and have been for a long time and every Lemmy post on Mastodon only shows up as a link, which tells me that it doesn't support the content type that Lemmy is pushing out.
I'm not saying you're wrong, but there's no evidence to support what you're saying.

@BeAware @aj Mastodon accepts Article as well, same with Page (which is what Lemmy uses for posts). Lemmy uses Note for comments.
The problem is with the general incompatibility, Lemmy doesn't have user following at all.
BeAware :fediverse: repeated this.
