@obrhoff it is so revolutionary that even in #StarTrek itself they need it to not be perfect. Repeatedly, food from it gets mocked. It can't do some chemicals. It conveniently can't do weapons or whole starships. Lesser civilisations only get simpler versions that only do water...

The Humble Bundle "Learn to Code 2025" is basically low-quality superficial AI SLOP shit. It's so bad I'm not even going to link to it out of fear you might accidentally buy it.

The thumbnails already looked like this might be the case, but I bought it anyway. I have never before outright *regretted* buying a humble bundle, this is a first for me.

I'm thinking about getting a refund.

Leute fragen mich oft, warum ich so oft #Carsharing-Autos miete, und ob ich mir von dem Geld nicht einfach ein Auto kaufen könnte.

Leute haben keine Ahnung, wie teuer Autos sind. Leute, die selbst Autos besitzen, haben null Gefühl dafür, wie viel Geld sie selbst für ihr eigenes Auto ausgeben.

Ich mache seit 2011 #Carsharing. Ich habe inzwischen 10.000 Euro für Fahrten alleine und nochmal 5.000 Euro für Fahrten mit der Familie ausgegeben. Insgesamt. Inklusive Benzin, Wartung, Wertverlust, Steuern, Versicherung - wie viele Jahre eines durchschnittlichen Autos wären das gewesen? 3?

Ich hatte dabei immer ein relativ modernes, relativ brauchbar ausgestattetes *ungewöhnlich sauberes* Auto. Musste mich nie um Reifen kümmern, war kein einziges Mal in irgend einer Werkstatt. Ich kümmere mich nur sporadisch irgendwo mal um Parkplätze. Mein Auto ist klein, wenn ich alleine fahre, mein auto ist RIESIG wenn ich zu Ikea fahre.

Kann Dein Auto das auch?

I will not call a pre-trained #LLM / #AI model that you can run on your own machine an "open source" model. It's simply the wrong term.

You effectively download a binary blob. You don't get any of the sources. You can't see how the sausage was made. You can't modify it (yes, I know about LoRA, not what I mean). You can't meaningfully learn how it was made. "open source" as a term sets a pretty low bar, and these models don't even clear that.

I will die on this hill.

@azonenberg I'll buy the privacy respecting electric car immediately! If I needed a car tomorrow, I honestly wouldn't feel comfortable buying anything on the market right now, because of the way telemetry and logging works in all cars 😕

@aral my first website had Frames. It was not perfect, but it was a pretty OK solution to that problem. I think we could have fixed frames with reasonable effort.
