@elziax @Trouw De auteur stelt niet te willen verzanden in cultuurrelativisme maar dat is toch exact wat hij doet? Mensen in China en Rusland “willen anders samenleven”. Naar mijn idee hebben die mensen helemaal niets te willen, en dat is nou net het probleem. Daardoor, en door onze zelfgekozen zwakte in het vrije westen, kunnen hun leiders zich straffeloos zo ontzettend misdragen.

@GossiTheDog decades back I investigated an incident on a really crucial UNIX server and we found that they’d been typing stuff like “dir C:\” in their root shell - company saved by cluelessness of intruders:)

@GossiTheDog Agree. There are good people doing threat intel and it can definitely be useful to know bad guys’ “MO” but I’ve been feeling uncomfortable too about what seems to be a focus on info gathering (and storytelling) at the cost of actually doing anything about what’s happening. I get the feeling we’ve given up on protecting individual users and small companies in favour of corporate clients who can afford expensive red team/blue team setups.
