   @GossiTheDog decades back I investigated an incident on a really crucial UNIX server and we found that they’d been typing stuff like “dir C:\” in their root shell - company saved by cluelessness of intruders:)

     @GossiTheDog I recall when the business I was working in was taken over by a large US public company, one of the first things they did was ship a £30,000 (apparently) firewall device to our office so that we could be 'properly protected'. This sat in our network room for three years entirely unopened and was eventually returned to the head office because they wanted to send it somewhere else. It was entirely theatre and had absolutely nothing to do with board members being on certain boards. 🤷🏻♂️
