@bmacDonald94 There was a short story written about 1969 that asserted “Incompetence is the mother of invention”. Dolphins don’t need the technological monstrosity that we rely on.

@bmacDonald94 The dolphins have always operated in the long view. Human beings' consumption and productivity is doing away with a planet fit for human beings and most other species.

Lovely pic.
Once I was watching the start of a surfing competition in south Queensland. All the surfers lined up, still, tensely waiting for the big wave and the judge's signal - except the two blokes at the end of the line, who were fidgetting. Came the wave; the surfers stood on their boards and hurtled toward the beach... and I realised the two blokes at the end were dolphins.
They didn't win the prize, but I think that was just speciesism.Mr. Bill repeated this. -

@sunflowerinrain @bmacDonald94 Dolphins loved surfing on the wake of my sons high speed boat. I have a video somewhere. They are so smart they would recognise the sound of his engines and be waiting for him to leave the mooring he’d chosen for the night. He had the fastest boat.

@bmacDonald94 @sunflowerinrain One day we were sailing out of Auckland Harbour and had just reached North Head when a huge pod of dolphins appeared. It was a holiday weekend so lots of us heading out. A group of about 12 surrounded our sloop and were swimming in formation around us. They’d swim from the bow to the stern turn and repeat. They’d lay on their side as they passed me and eyeballed me. Incredible experience.
