An anime character I can fully identify myself with!
I'm going to make an avatar image out of it!
Or, as some call it here, pro life picture (they probably want to have my babies when they see it). -

Well, he might still have healthy organs having aftermarket value — but it's a gamble, I won't bother either, unless he comes at a huge discount. -

RSS feet?
It's basically like RSS feed, but instead of latest articles' headlines it shows you the footnotes 🤪 -

Transmitting mixed signals!
Looks like my ISP made incoming connections to http(s) ports possible again! 😁
Now what's left is for Russia to collapse so I can use VPN without having a phone somehow involved in the process. Of course there is a chance that I figure out how to reimplement WireGuard over TLS the same way they use it, but as it involves dealing with proton API to figure out the host and port to connect to, I think the collapse might happen sooner. -

Pedora might be using proprietary driver which might work better. This is exactly the case with my old MacBook Pro — there is a completely free driver, but it's total shit — it kinda works, but keeps reassociating very often. The non-free one is rock solid. There might be a way to improve the free one — but this machine is total trash so I don't care enough. -

Why not just "make oldconfig"? 🤔 -

There is usually a separate kernel headers package, which is used to build third-party modules for use with dkms. If you don't use any, you don't need even that. But I don't see why one might want to have complete kernel sources on their system, unless you're intending to build kernel with a different configuration 🤷

It's usually a bit more complex than that, it's not just cops you and the wallet, it's something like this: you see a wallet on the ground, you pick it up — doesn't matter if you intend to take it or return it, you just have to pick it up. Then suddenly a stranger appears and says: "I saw what you did there",— he suggests you to split the cash from the wallet and he walks. You do that — he takes some of the money that is usually indeed there and walks away. Suddenly (!) "the original owner" of the wallet — doesn't matter what he looks like, you might've never seen him, accompanied by cops (!) and starts pointing finger at you!
The cops come to you, you tell them that you were planning on returning the wallet, you give it to the one who supposedly lost it, he (or her) counts the cash inside and tells them that a huge part of it is missing.
This is where they offer you to either return the missing money or just bribe them and walk.
When I put it like that it looks like an obvious ploy, but when it happens to you, you are already scared shitless and can't think straight.
This has never happened to me personally, but it did happen to a couple of my friends when they were younger, one of them even managed to regain his composure and made it out without giving them a dime 😂
There are all sorts of setups like this one, some of them involve you hitting a person or another car with your car — none of them were invented in Russia of course and I think are pretty typical for Eastern Europe and maybe even the rest of the world, but some of them are particularly "popular" here. Nowadays people mostly use cards, but some time ago this one was VERY common — to the point of parents warning their soon-to-be-adult kids about it.

In Russia it could've even been a ploy by the cops themselves to coerce you into bribing them for not persecuting you, so you're still lucky you're not living in Russia while still attempting to do good deeds 😅 -

Yes, valid remark, some things have actually diverged quite noticeably by now, I might not even realise how much myself — as I somewhat keep living in the past. -

It's just as good as everything else if you only use simple tools like vim and your language's toolchain, if you can get past the godawful design it has now you'd be fine.
If you want Xcode, it's perfect — and it's now like you have many other options.
VSCode is as good as on any other platform. There are also native tools like Sublime Text editor that you might like, but they don't make night or day difference is you ask me. -

Yep, Mastodonians have been claiming that it would introduce Twitter-like behaviour, "harassment", but in fact for those who weren't attempting to replicate Twitter in the first place turned out that it meant nothing, and while the feature certainly has its uses, it's not nearly as widespread as they expect it to be 🤷
