I think it's only bad if you fry on it — because the temperature at which it becomes harmful is lower not only than those of olive oil, but than that of butter. But otherwise it's just as good as consuming plant-based fats any other way — it won't give you animal-based fats, that's for sure, but it can't be considered harmful outright. It might have undesirable effects in the long run, but you might replace it with something else if you have balanced diet that doesn't include animal-based products — and in general that's up to the whole vegetarianism debate.kaia likes this.
