@Mabande @OrionKidder again, you have absolutely no idea whether I'm a comfortable and complacent person or just someone who did the rage thing for decades before giving up and going for a walk. You seem to be pretty sure, though, so that must be reassuring.

Lots of folk have disengaged from everything beyond their direct sphere of influence and retreated into their own wee world. I used to think that was because they couldn't be bothered, but I'm swithering towards it being a survival reflex. The problems of the world are overwhelming, but little things bring joy. Why wouldn't folk focus on the little things and ignore the rest? Not saying that's healthy, just saying it's understandable.

@Mabande @OrionKidder it has nothing to do with disbelief. It's a note on the futility of shouting into a social media void. Express your rage on here if you find it cathartic, but know that lots of folk curate their feed to filter out rage, whatever inspired it. It's the rage that's being avoided rather than the sentiment behind it. Social media produces binary responses. If I'm not perceived to be 100% with you in every way, then I must be 100% against you. It's a sad state of affairs.

@Sahkshi @damon @matty it's the middle of the night right now, but going outside and being in nature is literally the way I do manage my anger and frustration with the incompetence of governments and widespread inequality that doesnt get any better. It isn't just a throw-away suggestion. It's a proven lifesaver. There's lots of research to back that up. Not sure there's much research to say that social media of any kind, has the same effect.

@damon @matty @Sahkshi you have absolutely no idea who I am or if I'm "they". That wasn't voicing concern. It was an absolute rant. I don't know what the answer is, but that, isn't it. As far as I can see, all social media has turned to shit for most users, and it's just a matter of time before the whole concept becomes obsolete. It's in the same vein as keeping a diary. No one apart from the person writing gets much out of it, and hardly anyone does it anymore.

@chriscz it was a rant. . Whatever the subject, ranting rarely has any effect.
