Mrs CloudyLots of folk have disengaged from everything beyond their direct sphere of influence and retreated into their own wee world. I used to think that was because they couldn't be bothered, but I'm swithering towards it being a survival reflex. The problems of the world are overwhelming, but little things bring joy. Why wouldn't folk focus on the little things and ignore the rest? Not saying that's healthy, just saying it's understandable.
