Don’t join Patreon. I’ve been a creator and patron for several years, even as they gradually quit supporting the browsers I use, so I could no longer share my creations and have just been linking to my website. Then, when finances were tight recently, I adjusted and readjusted my memberships to keep supporting my favorite creators as best I could. Patreon charged me multiple times for one account and has given me the “customer service” runaround since I asked for a refund. I’m leaving.

What’s a good RSS reader: one that uses a good browser for web access, doesn’t track me or ask for all my info, and isn’t otherwise enshittified? I don’t even need to use it for reading (yet?) per se but am putting RSS links on my website and want to see how it looks from a reader.

Okay, it’s time: based on a dream I had last night, and in an abundance of caution, I’m about to switch my profile to require follow requests and then I’ll soft-block all nonmutuals. This way I’ll feel (more) free to express myself openly, with a better sense of community. Been thinking about it for a while. If you find yourself suddenly not following me and you’d like to continue following me, it can’t hurt to ask. I’m just gonna make a clean sweep of it for ease of processing.
