@killyourfm Wayland has HDR Support on AMD but there's a bug in egl-wayland with Nvidia and colors will be washed out most probably.
That's why I asked for the specs. XD

@killyourfm What are the specs? For newer games, if you're on Nvidia you'll be missing HDR and DLSS3 FG which are huge blows for Linux. That's why I keep a Windows partition to make use of these two features on games like CP2077 and Wukong.
@killyourfm What song? Is there a link?
@killyourfm Absolutely. I think more people need to be aware of this amazing feature on Windows and the Linux people need to be motivated to actually implement it.
Tech is just a tool. People should use what's best for the job. Having any bias in tech is like having a bias against a hammer. It just doesn't make sense.
@killyourfm I tried switching to Windows just for Lossless Scaling. Any kind of FG is a game changer for low end devices. And if you can up the frames of capped games as well it becomes absolutely essential for ANY kind of device.
The Linux devs need to so seriously look into it.
@killyourfm Once we hit critical mass and companies start actively supporting Linux, there's no going back.
@killyourfm Am I the only one or has Windows become quite peculiar when it comes to gaming/streaming?
My friend couldn't get Prototype to work on Windows yesterday cause it supposedly needed fewer cores available than what he has. I launched perfectly fine on Linux.
And a streamer I know couldn't stream because she needed to update her drivers first.
Not to mention the overheating issues I still have with OBS on my main laptop (not my old one I posted about before).
Like, is this a trend now?
@killyourfm Amazing article as always and I think the CP2077 results show how much VKD3D has evolved in the past few years. Great work from the Linux and Proton devs. Much respect and many thanks to them! :)
@killyourfm I went with Windows X-Lite. So it didn't even come with a browser. Window is just badly designed is what I'm getting here.
I have regretted SO much even trying Windows on my laptop again. It has EXTREME overheating issues.
After 10 mins of gameplay ANY demanding game start stuttering like a mf.
This laptop never had overheating issues. NEVER.
Thank God, I'm back on Linux now and can play Wukong on Very High, RT Medium and FG on at 30-40 FPS stable with extremely few stutters.
Bottom line? Windows sucks ass one way or the other. Never trying it again.
@killyourfm @Linux4Everyone Well I think it's got potential. XD
I will enjoy any kind of convo on there I'm sure. :)
Holt crap! There's a @Linux4Everyone Discord I didn't know about! XD
Everyone should join if they like Linux, gaming or tech in general! :)
Here's an article with a link to it -> https://www.linuxforeveryone.net/6-reasons-why-i-switched-from-windows-to-linux-2/
@killyourfm Hello! :) I am trying to Follow you on Forbes and this is what I'm getting on Floorp (Tuxedo OS if that matters).
@killyourfm Are these gonna be covered in a future article? I'm interested! :)
@killyourfm @Linux4Everyone @nextcloud Gitea? Ive never used it but I know its self hosted.
@killyourfm @root I see. Well, let get the testing Bazzite image and give it a shot then. I'm gonna use Assasin's Creed Valhalla to take it to the limit as much as I can.
@killyourfm @root Perfect, thank you! :) I'm waiting for Bazzite to get the new Nvidia stable drivers to try it out. Apparently there's a Fifefox issue so it will take some days but I'm hoping to test it soon! Thanx! :)
@killyourfm @root How do I enable it if I may ask? I would like to run some tests as well! :)
I'm curious how it fairs on a REALLY high end laptop which is Nvidia as well. I have a 7945HXand 4090M.
@killyourfm Really nice post. My first contact with videogames was when I was 4 and my dad brought home a Game Boy. The year was 1993 and I just couldn't get over how cool this thing was.
He also bought a Looney Tunes game. The very first time I played it, I decided I wanted to be a game developer, which my dad definitely didn't expect or appreciate at the time. XD
@killyourfm
Concerning PCs, it must have been around the same time I visited my Aunt and she had a Windows 3.1 machine. I BEGGED my dad to get one of these and it took 1-2 years but we went together to the store and bought the brand new Windows 95 PC.
Unforgettable times!
