@ReverseModule Wow, all of them? That's quite an accomplishment! I decided to simply read them in publication order -- am I making the right call?

@killyourfm I've read all 43 Discworld books. You're in for a wild ride. I wish i could read them again for the first time as well.

Recently I obtained a Nitro Deck + for my original Switch but the battery was in bad condition so I upgraded to Oled. Which almost feels like a complete new handheld now. Nitro Deck + is awesome! Playing Skyrim now. -

I'm finding The Colour of Magic difficult to get through, and I'm genuinely hoping the Discworld series improves from here. I see sparks of promise -- especially concerning humor and the pure imagination that's here -- but the narrative also feels so chaotic.

@killyourfm I've seen it said that if you don't like Colour of Magic, you'll love the rest of Discworld

@reb Oh wow, seriously? This elevates that spark of promise a bit more, then! (I have The Light Fantastic waiting on the shelf)

@killyourfm when I first read them I read them out of order because I just picked ones that sounded interesting from my dad's collection, when I got to Colour of Magic I actually thought I'd accidentally picked up a book from a different series by a different author

@WildEnte He's a difficult character to like. Hapless, selfish, kind of a jerk, but also so impossibly lucky every 10 pages or so.

@killyourfm I disliked everything involving Rincewind, and loved all the rest.

@killyourfm even Terry Pratchett doesn't recommend it as a starting point, it's pretty rough compared to the rest of the series, though I do love the story. IMHO the abridged version is actually better because it cuts out a lot of stuff in-between and is less chaotic. Sourcery is generally considered the best starting point. I'm partial to the watch and death series though, so I would recommend "guards guards!"
